What do sumatriptan succinate tablets look like?
Each tablet contains 100 mg sumatriptan (as sumatriptan succinate). Tablet. White to off – white, capsule shaped, biconvex, uncoated tablets, debossed with 'C' on one side and '34' on the other side. Sumatriptan is indicated for the acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura.
Safety and effectiveness of Sumatriptan tablets have not been established for cluster headache. The recommended dose of Sumatriptan tablets is 25 mg, 50 mg, or 100 mg. Doses of 50 mg and 100 mg may provide a greater effect than the 25 mg dose, but doses of 100 mg may not provide a greater effect than the 50 mg dose.
The pharmacokinetics of oral Sumatriptan in the elderly (mean age, 72 years; 2 males and 4 females) and in patients with migraine (mean age, 38 years; 25 males and 155 females) were similar to that in healthy male subjects (mean age, 30 years) (see PRECAUTIONS: Geriatric Use).
